ARTISTS CREATE NIGHT

Bill Reigle to inaugurate new series at Main Gallery 404, “Artists Create”

As a way to enlighten the public to the many ways artists create their artwork, Main Gallery 404 will start featuring artists demonstrating their processes on selected First Fridays.

First in the series is Bill Riegle who will demonstrate and discuss his methods during the evening of June 5th from 5pm to 8pm. Reigle works in markers to create a variety of geometrically abstract patterns in a large range of color combinations. They have a very clean mid-century quality.

Originally from Kentland IN Riegle moved to Bloomington-Normal to be closer to family who encouraged him in his retirement to pursue his interest in art. He began showing and selling his art at Main Gallery 404 about 6 months ago.

Reigle’s process involves creating line work of abstract interacting shapes and filling in the shapes with color focusing on color interaction, layering and texture. His favorite works highlight how color blends and interacts especially when using a wide range of colors.

The artist welcomes the public to visit on First Friday to ask questions and have a conversation on the creative process.
