Curator’s Spotlight: Cathie Haab

Moving along with our Artists’ Series, we turn our attention to a Collage Artist, Cathi Haab. Cathi has framed collages, flatwork, and cards available at Main Gallery 404. I have chosen three framed collages of Cathi’s that are on display in the Gallery for further examination.

I am visually “drawn into” and captivated with each of these pieces. They seem to express a theme-based approach with varying story lines left up to my imagination. Cathi enjoys using color, line, and visual texture that expertly creates depth perception with infinite boundaries.

Two of these works use a vertical directional application to unify; while the third work simulates looking into a box. Can you identify these? Captivating, exciting, unique, and well-presented! A “must see” at the Gallery.
