Curator’s Spotlight: Sheila Lamberson

We continue with our new series on Facebook that showcases one of our Main Gallery 404 Artists. I am choosing Sheila Lamberson; and specifically three of her paintings that are currently on display at the gallery - a landscape, a floral piece, and an aerial view looking down into a Koi pond.

It appears that Sheila begins with layer after layer (and then yet) more layers to develop the painting’s foundation. It’s a strategic, well thought out presentation that also delivers the light source and reflects details.

She employs an intriguing (and somewhat teasing) usage of Complimentary Colors. For me, this possesses a mesmerizing visual effect that captures and holds my attention. It somehow focuses me within the boundries of the canvas.

The light dances, not only on the main characters but also the supporting cast. The free brushwork highlights the fun she must have in the creation process.

The works of Sheila Lamberson are a “must see” at the gallery.
